Mandell JCC Will Present 'A Beary Awesome Purim Tail'

The Mandell JCC in West Hartford, in partnership with mainstages, will present the interactive show ‘A Beary Awesome Purim Tail’ on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

The Mandell JCC in partnership with mainstages will be presenting A Beary Awesome Purim Tail. This Jewish themed interactive show will be performed on Sunday, March 12, 2017, 1:30 p.m. at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT.
Children are invited to come in costume, make hamentashen and masks at 1:30 p.m. and enjoy A Beary Awesome Purim Tail, an interactive performance by mainstages at 2:15 p.m..
After awaking from hibernation, a hungry bear encounters an eccentric character who describes to him a magical Purim party. Join us to find out what happens. This performance features the PJ Library Book, The Mystery Bear, by Tamar Fox.
Purim is known as the Feast of Esther, Jewish day of merrymaking marking the defeat of Persian tyrant Haman. It is customary to wear costumes, perform plays and parodies, and hold carnival-like celebrations to commemorate the occasion.
mainstages is an educational theater company for children. mainstages interactive Jewish programs and performances engage each participant’s personal connect to the Jewish values and traditions. Shows are highly interactive, designed to emphasize Jewish values, and strengthen understanding of Jewish holidays.
