Diners at Max restaurants in West Hartford and throughout the area will have their donations matched by the Max Cares Foundation through Dec. 16.
Max Cares Foundation, Inc. second Annual “Roasts for the Holidays” campaign will raise funds to provide quality holiday meals for six area shelters and kitchens in the Greater Hartford, CT, and Springfield, MA, regions.
Diners who visit any of the award-winning Max Restaurants in the region will have an opportunity to make a donation to the Roasts for the Holidays fundraiser when they receive their check. Total gifts to the campaign will be matched up to $10,000 by Max Cares Foundation.
The in-restaurant giving drive will run Saturday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 16. People who would like to participate but are not able to visit a Max Restaurant during the two week period can make a tax-deductible donation via www.maxcaresfoundation.org .
Last year’s inaugural Roasts for the Holidays was an immediate success raising $30,000 that went directly toward providing a “Max-quality” holiday dinner to the underserved in the regions where Max Restaurants are located.
Richard Rosenthal, president of the Max Cares Foundation, said, “Max Restaurant patrons went above and beyond last year when we asked them to help us raise funds to provide an unforgettable holiday dinner for those who most need it. For the Max Cares Foundation to be able to add to their generosity made it possible for us to give a top-notch meal to hundreds of families in the communities where we live and work.”
The six area shelters and kitchens that will receive Roasts for the Holidays meals are: Loaves & Fishes, House of Bread, and Open Hearth in Hartford, CT; Open Pantry Community Services and Springfield Rescue Mission in Springfield, MA; and Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry in Chicopee, MA.
Participating Max Restaurants include:
- Max Downtown and Trumbull Kitchen in Hartford, CT
- Max’s Oyster Bar, Max Burger, and Savoy Pizzeria & Craft Bar in West Hartford, CT
- Max-A-Mia in Avon, CT
- Max Fish and Max Amore in Glastonbury, CT
- Max’s Tavern in Springfield, MA
- Max Burger in Longmeadow, MA
Guests of the restaurants that are interested in participating in Roasts for the Holidays can simply add a charitable contribution to the check presented at the end of their meal in order for their donation to qualify for the Max Cares Foundation matching gift.
