West Hartford Police said an adult operator of a motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries sustained after a collision with a car on Monday afternoon.

The driver of the car was also injured, police said, and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic exiting I-84 in from the east and west was also detoured to head northbound on South Main Street.

Police said all roadways reopened at approximately 6 p.m., but the incident remains under active investigation by the West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
