West Hartford Police said there were three unrelated crashes Monday morning on Albany Avenue, including one involving a school bus.

Three separate and unrelated crashes occurred on a rainy Monday morning in West Hartford, and included a rollover, a bus vs. vehicle, and a driver who lost control and went off the roadway – all on Albany Avenue. Minor injuries were sustained by involved parties in all three incidents.

According to Capt. Aaron Vafiades, the first reported incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m., and involved a single car that rolled over on Albany Avenue (Route 44) at Toll House Lane – just west of the intersection with Mountain Road. Two adults had minor injuries as a result, and the roadway was closed for a short time for the clean-up and investigation, he said.

About 45 minutes later, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a small school bus and an SUV collided on Albany Avenue at the intersection of Huntington Drive – just east of the intersection with Mountain Road.

A middle school student, who was on the bus, was transported to an area hospital for “minor neck pain,” Vafiades said.

Several hours later a third crash occurred – the second of the day at Albany Avenue at Toll House Lane. At approximately 9:53 a.m., “an operator lost control and went off the roadway,” Vafiades said. The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
