According to Attorney General William Tong, the Connecticut Artificial Intelligence Responsibility and Transparency Act (‘CART Act’), is one of the most comprehensive AI laws in the country.

With a pair of new laws intended to protect residents’ privacy and information from the use of artificial intelligence, Attorney General William Tong addressed the major provisions of two related bills going into effect Oct. 1.
“We are late to this party, okay?” Tong said at a Wednesday news conference. He added that the federal government should have acted sooner to regulate AI. But lacking that, the state needed to take the lead.
