The Copper Beech Institute will host poet, philosopher and New York Times #1 bestselling author Mark Nepo for the weekend retreat, The Exquisite Risk: Daring to Live an Authentic Life. Considered one of the finest spiritual guides of our time, Nepo will offer participants skills on how to negotiate life and be present in the world without losing sight of who they are. As he says, “to experience life rather than simply manage it.”

Various topics will unfold during the retreat such as: “The Struggle to Be Real,” “There Are Teachers Everywhere,” “The Rhythm of Kindness,” and “The Gift of Surprise.” Using stories, poetry, journaling, reflection and dialogue, this retreat is an invitation to deepen the way participants perceive and relate in their own lives. Nepo leans on his own wisdom gained as a cancer survivor and devotes his life’s work to writing and teaching the journey of inner transformation and the life of relationship with others.

The weekend retreat begins on Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m. and concludes on Sunday, June 14, at noon. Tuition is $250 plus accommodations. A commuter rate is also available. Visit Mark Nepo’s retreat page for more information.

Mark Nepo has been featured on Oprah Winfrey’s “The Life You Want” Tour and her Super Soul Sunday series.
