Children of all ages are invited to experience the magic of “The Nutcracker” at the Noah Webster House on Dec. 7, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a fun-filled day of games, stories, crafts, gingerbread cookie decorating, photo opportunities, and a sneak peek performance of Ballet Theater Company’s holiday classic, “The Nutcracker.”

The museum is excited to partner with Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) to offer an experience you and your child will not forget. BTC dancers will present  excerpts  from their upcoming production of “The Nutcracker,” including Uncle Drosselmeyer’s dolls which are replicas of Noah Webster and his Blue Back Speller Ballerina doll, who will come to life right before your eyes, and Mother Ginger’s dancing Gingerbread Cookies.

The Snow Queen will also be in attendance flitting and fluttering like a snowflake to take photos with attendees.

Along with the performances, BTC Artistic Director Stephanie Dattellas will lead an interactive story time telling the tale of Clara and her magical dream in the Land of the Sweets. Performances and story time will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

In between Ballet Theatre Company’s performances, crafts and games for kids and gingerbread cookie decorating will be available. What word says the holidays better than “gingerbread”? The aroma of gingerbread (thanks to ingredients like molasses, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, and cloves) will fill the museum as children decorate their own gingerbread boy and girl cookies to eat (or take home).

There will also be time to meet and greet the ballerinas and to have a photo opportunity with some of your favorite characters from “The Nutcracker.” Dress up is encouraged!

“Noah and The Nutcracker” is a drop-in event to be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Performances and story time will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Parents, please stay with your children – this is not a drop-off event.

Tickets are $15 per child and $12 for members. For every child ticket, one adult may attend at no charge. Additional adults are $5 each. Tickets and additional information at www.noahwebster.yapsody.com. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited.
