Are you looking for something fun for your child to do during the upcoming February school break? The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society in West Hartford has four creative, hands-on workshops planned.

The workshops will run on Monday, Feb. 19 and Tuesday, Feb. 20, the days when West Hartford Public Schools and several other school systems will be on vacation.

Workshops are designed for kids ages 7 to 12 and each is three hours long. There will be a morning workshop from 9 a.m.-noon and an afternoon workshop from 1-4 p.m. each of the two school vacation days. Kids can be signed up for just one session, or can do two, three, or all four of the programs!

The fee for each workshop is $25 per child, $20 for museum members. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, contact the education department at 860-521-5362 x 14 or [email protected].

The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is a cultural destination where citizens can learn to understand and appreciate the past. The museum preserves the birthplace of Noah Webster, the founding father, educator, author, and lexicographer who taught generations of Americans what it means to be American. This National Historic Landmark is also a repository for the history of West Hartford, the community that molded Noah Webster’s future and is still thriving over 250 years later. The historic house and exhibit spaces are open daily 1 until 4 p.m. For information on the museum’s extensive school and public programs, please visit www.noahwebsterhouse.org or call (860) 521-5362.
