Northwest Catholic Girls Basketball Celebrates 3rd Consecutive CIAC Championship

West Hartford’s Northwest Catholic High School defeated Bethel High School on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Class L girls basketball championship at Mohegan Sun Arena.

For the third consecutive year, the Northwest Catholic girls’ basketball team clinched a CIAC crown, this time winning the Class L state championship. The Lions secured a 56-40 victory over Bethel High School on Saturday night, March 15, 2025, at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The night was made even more memorable by junior standout Maeve Staunton, who reached a career milestone by scoring her 1,000th point during the title game.
The Northwest Catholic girls are coached by Alison Connors, a West Hartford residents and 2013 NWC graduate. Her father, Ed Connors, also a West Hartford resident, serves as assistant coach.
