Northwest Catholic Seniors Commit to College Athletics

Several students from West Hartford’s Northwest Catholic High School have recently formalized their plans to continue their sports at the collegiate level.

Two Northwest Catholic seniors recently signed national letters of intent to participate in athletic programs at the Division I level, and others have made commitments to Division II schools.

According to Athletic Director Ashley Mara, Alexia Lilly will play soccer at Division 1 Delaware State this fall, while Emma Chipps will join the rowing program at Division I Creighton University.

In addition, Mara said senior Brooke Popella will be signing a letter of intent to play softball at Division 1 Bucknell University.

Mara noted that several students have also made commitments to programs at the Division II level, including Hunter Wilcox who will play lacrosse at Pace University, Shannon Fitzsimmons who will play soccer at Assumption College, and Ryan Micari who will play baseball at Bentley University.
