The Northwest Catholic Class of 2015 had a school record-setting year on both the SAT and Advanced Placement Exams. Members of the Class of 2015 earned an average score of 563 in critical reading, 560 in math and 560 in writing on the SAT, for a total average score of 1683. This tops the previous record-high overall score of 1675 set by the Class of 2013. The 2015 SAT scores are also higher than the Connecticut average score of 1514 overall (504 in critical reading, 506 in math, and 504 in writing).

Members of the Class of 2015 were also part of a record number of 52 Advanced Placement Scholars, including one National AP Scholar – Brendan Fahey ’15 of Enfield. In total, 179 Northwest Catholic students took 341 AP exams in 2015, with 81 percent of the students achieving a score of 3 or better – another school record. The school’s 81 percent success rate was higher than the Connecticut average of 73 percent, and was 20 percentage points higher than the global population score of 61 percent.

“The Northwest Catholic Class of 2015 will go down as the highest achieving academic class in the 55-year history of the school,” said Northwest Catholic President/Chief Administrator David Eustis. “None of this would be possible without the brilliant teaching efforts of our faculty and the dedication and commitment of our students. Everyone at Northwest Catholic should feel proud of these accomplishments. I look forward to the Class of 2016 and future classes trying to better these records.”

Since 1961, Northwest Catholic’s mission has been to educate the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and soul. Enrollment for the Class of ’20 is now under way, and prospective students are invited to the Open House at Northwest Catholic on October 25, 2015.
