After a 31-year career with the Town of West Hartford, former Town Manager Ron Van Winkle was inducted this week into The Old Guard, a retired mens’ club that he had addressed in his official capacity on many occasions.

Van Winkle was honored by the Guard in the spring for his service to the town and his many contributions. He pledged at that time that when he qualified as a retiree, he would like to join the organization.

Van Winkle retired at the end of June and was inducted at the first meeting of the Guard’s Fall season. The Old Guard meets weekly at Westminster Presbyterian Church on the Boulevard in West Hartford. Additional information about the Old Guard is available online at oldguardct.org.
