Planning and Development Committee Sets Agenda for Upcoming Session

A potentially contentious bill authorized the assessment of a land value tax and potential state funding for certain improvements to commercial properties.

The state senate’s Planning and Development Committee worked through a packed agenda on Wednesday morning to set its policy priorities for the rest of the session.

The committee took a look at 20 proposals that were submitted as potential ideas for legislation this session. Proposals ranged from personal property tax exemption for motor vehicles used in farming to acts regarding the safety and efficiency of sewage disposal systems.
