West Hartford Police found several shell casings in the area of 869 Farmington Ave. after responding to a report of shots fired just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, witnesses reported having heard eight to 10 shots.

Police said that two cars found parked in the area, which they said were not involved in the incident, had been struck with bullets. There are no reports of any individuals having been shot, police said.

Police closed a portion of Farmington Avenue, between Dover Road and Outlook Avenue, while they investigated, but Sgt. Tony Anderle said the road would reopen shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Hartford Police at 860-523-5203.
