In about three weeks, the Wolcott Elementry School field and forest will be filled with energetic, muddy, smiling children.

The fifth annual Run-A-Muck (RAM) race, where kids, ages 4-12, get down and dirty while completing a series of obstacles in a 1.2-mile un-timed race, will take place on Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 9:15 a.m.-1 p.m at 70 Wolcott Rd. in West Hartford.

The first race, at 9:15 a.m., is a shorter course for children ages 4 and 5 ($15), while each additional race, with heats every 15 minutes beginning at 9:30 a.m., provides a more physical challenge for children ages 6-12 ($25).

The RAM race is a fundraiser that typically generates about $4,000 in profit, providing kids with a day of fun and physical fitness while raising money for future programs, grants, and supplies for the school. Online registration, which includes a commemorative race t-shirt, is currently open and closes on Friday, May 11.

Interested participants are urged to register online here as this event fills up quickly. Onsite cash registration will be available on race day, but t-shirts will be limited.

More about the Wolcott Elementary School PTO

The work of PTO leaders and many generous volunteers enhances the elementary school experience with school-wide events, a children’s forest, teacher appreciation gifts, school advocacy teams, grants for creative programs, and organized support for children and families who need it.
