This year’s mild winter temperatures have had many people dreaming about golf and other springtime activities, and the Town of West Hartford has announced that its award-winning Rockledge Golf Club will be opening for the 2023 season this week.
According to Timothy Nadeau, the golf course superintendent at Rockledge, the course will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, and will continue to be open daily for the season, from 9 a.m. until dusk, weather permitting. “[I’m] hopeful that this will be the start of a great golf season, but as we all know the weather can change in a hurry this time of year,” he said.
Tee times can now be reserved online at www.rockledgegolf.com and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The practice greens, driving range, and Golf Shop are also open during regular seasonal hours. Season passes and discount passes are available for sale.

The opening of the golf course means the closing for the season of the trails on the Rockledge Golf Course that the public uses for walking and running during the off-season – as well as cross country skiing and snowshoeing when there is snow.

The opening date for West Hartford’s other public golf course, the 9-hole Buena Vista course, has not been announced. Details about Buena Vista can be found here.
