Tens of thousands gathered on the grounds of West Hartford Town Hall on Saturday and Sunday for the annual two-day festival that celebrates the wondrous town of West Hartford.
From vendors with intricate artwork to carnival games, to music, food, road races, and a chance for local businesses and non-profits to network with visitors, the 32nd annual Celebrate! West Hartford event had something for everyone. Clouds kept temperatures in check, not a drop of rain fell, and it was perfect weather for being outdoors.
More than 160 artisans from throughout the area offered one-of-a-kind pieces at the juried craft show, which has become known for being one of the region’s top 200 shows. Offerings for all tastes and styles included jewelry, photography, woodworking, tie-dye, and many, many more incredible pieces for sale.
People from all corners of Connecticut and Northeast gathered both to sell their products, and be spectators. Robert and Starr Handel of Handel Silver & Goldsmiths, said they traveled from Rockport, MA, to display and sell their jewelry and drew in many happy customers with their unique, authentic designs.
Celebrate! West Hartford also offered a wide-range of food options from traditional festival fare to healthy and gourmet, carnival rides and games for thrill-seekers as well as the youngest fair-goers, baby goats and other adorable animals, music from school groups and regional professionals, and give-aways and other information available from more sponsors and local non-profits.
More than 1,200 people also hit the streets of West Hartford on Sunday morning for the 5K Road Race and Kids Run that are part of the two-day event. Everett Hackett, 28, of West Hartford was the overall winner in 15:07, while Marisa Jones, 36, of Avon was the top female finisher in 17:19. Click here for complete race results.
