Many West Hartford elementary schools welcomed back their alumni from the Class of 2022 this week.

The day before graduating from Hall High School, members of the Class of 2022 who had graduated from Aiken Elementary School seven years earlier went back to pay their old school a visit.

They paraded around the outside of the school in their caps and gowns, visiting with their former teachers including a few retirees who returned for the occasion.

The pre-graduation visit is a tradition that has long been in place at some of the town’s other elementary schools, and Aiken Principal Shannon Mlodzinski welcomed the soon-to-be high school graduates with open arms, and said she hopes to have it become an Aiken tradition going forward.
