The West Hartford Art League will be holding a photography exhibit based around West Hartford, past and present, and is looking for photography submissions from the public.

Founded in 1934, the West Hartford Art League has been a vital part of the community for eighty one years. We are looking for photography submissions that exemplify all aspects of West Hartford for an exhibit that will be held in our Saltbox Gallery on Buena Vista Road from Oct. 11 – Nov. 8, 2015.

Photographers can submit up to three framed images for consideration, and all submissions are due by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 16. For more information on how to submit your work, please log onto our website at http://westhartfordart.org/upcoming-exhibitions/

In addition, the West Hartford Art League is looking for old snapshots or photos of West Hartford that you would be willing to lend for this exhibit. Please contact the Executive Director, Roxanne Stachelek.

The West Hartford Art League holds free monthly exhibits in its two galleries, year round art classes for students of all ages, and community exhibits. A 501 (c) 3, our income is derived from memberships, class tuitions, grants and donations which are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Since 1995, The West Hartford Art League has also offered The Louis Pollack Scholarship, which was created by a donation from the estate of Louis H. Pollack, a longtime member of the West Hartford Art League, and former teacher at Conard High School, who died in March 1994. The scholarship is awarded to a student entering their first year of an art program at a University or college who demonstrate both financial need and outstanding visual ability. To contribute to this scholarship fund, please contact the Executive Director, Roxanne Stachelek at (860) 231- 8019.

More information on our exhibits and events can be found on our website at westhartfordart.org or by calling the office at (860) 231-8019.
