Suspect Robs ShopRite in West Hartford, Implies He Has Weapon

The ShopRite at 46 Kane St. in West Hartford was robbed on Monday night.

West Hartford Police are searching for a suspect who implied that he had a weapon when he robbed the ShopRite grocery store at 46 Kane St.

Police said that they received a report of the robbery just before 7 p.m. Monday.

According to police, the suspect is a black male who appeared to be in his 30s. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, a baseball hat with a red brim, and black sneakers with white soles.

After grabbing an undetermined amount of money from a cashier, the suspect fled the store on foot, police said.

The cashier told police that she had seen the suspect “loitering in front of the store” about an hour before the robbery.

The West Hartford Police Department’s Detective Division is investigating. Anyone with information should contact West Hartford Police at 860-523-5203.
