In an all new episode of his podcast, the Connecticut Scoreboard, West Hartford resident Jared Kotler speaks with Beth Shluger, CEO and President of the Hartford Marathon Foundation.

The Hartford Marathon – which includes full and half marathon as well as 5K races – returns on Saturday, Oct. 9, after being canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020, but is being held on a modified course this year. The discussion focuses on how the organization had to adapt to virtual races during the pandemic, the new course for this year’s marathon (the half marathon will return to West Hartford in 2022), and more.

    • Hi Rob! It was just a temporary change in route for this year due to a need to limit volunteers due to COVID and also not have to pay for police in extra towns due less revenue because of a smaller number of participants. The half marathon should return to West Hartford next year!
