For over two years, COVID-19 has impacted our local economy, causing both job losses for workers and hiring challenges for many businesses.  To help address these hardships, the Town of West Hartford and the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce will hold a Community Job & Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Avenue. (Access facility via Burgoyne Street.)

“Our first Community Job & Resource Fair held in September was a big success for both employers and job seekers,” said Kristen Gorski, Economic Development coordinator for the Town of West Hartford “Businesses were thrilled to find the right match for their job openings.”

Participating businesses included banking, manufacturing, food service, retail, and health care. All industries are encouraged to participate as we expect a diverse set of job seekers to attend.

Vendor space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come basis. There is no fee to participate but registration is required. To register, please email [email protected] to reserve your table.

“Once again, the Town of West Hartford and West Hartford Chamber of Commerce are stepping up to help job seekers find employment and businesses find new employees,” stated Mayor Shari Cantor. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this unique opportunity to strengthen our community’s workforce and vitality.”

“The Town of West Hartford is eager to help our community’s residents and business owners who have been hit hardest by COVID-19 and we are confident the Community Job & Resource Fair will help serve that purpose,” stated Gorski.

“The Chamber is committed to doing whatever we can to meet the hiring challenges businesses are currently facing,” stated Christopher Conway, executive director of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

This is a free community event to learn about local job opportunities. Registration for job seekers is not required
