Town of West Hartford Changing Building Inspection Division Hours to Meet Volume of Permit Applications

The Town. of West Hartford’s Building Inspection Division will be closing the outdoor service window as of July 5, 2022.

Due to the volume of permits, the Building Inspection Division will be closing at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow staff time to catch up on permit entry. Staff will continue to be in the office until 4 p.m. and will be available to take phone calls.

New office hours, as of June 28, 2022, are:

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Building Inspection Division’s service window will close on Tuesday, July 5 until further notice. All transactions will take place in Town Hall, Room 208. Access for customers is through the Town Hall main entrance.

An online permitting process will be available soon.

The town’s Building Division will be upgrading to an online permitting platform in the near future. The new CityView Portal will be accessible from the Town of West Hartford’s website.

Individuals and contractors will be able to apply for permits, submit all required documentation, make payments, and check the status of all of permit applications with the new CityView Portal. An initial registration will be required  before use of the portal for the first time, and more information will be available once the system in available.
