Town officials advise that there will be short-term lane closures and occasional need to prohibit turning movements as the next phase of construction of the Park Road and Trout Brook Drive intersection gets underway.

Work will include the installation of granite curbing and concrete sidewalks, as well as construction of a new stone sign welcoming people to West Hartford on the north side of Park Road, directly opposite the new off ramp.

Officials also said that Park Road will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction between Raymond Road and Thomson Road as that portion of the roadway is reconstructed. Lanes will re-open each evening, but motorists are advised that the roadway surface will temporarily consist of crushed stone and travel will not be smooth.

Suggested detours from I-84 include South Main Street (Exit 41), Trout Brook Drive (Exit 42), and Prospect Avenue/Kane Street (Exit 44).
