[Updated] The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that the I-84 interchange 43 (Park Road) in West Hartford will be closed for final paving of the on- and off-ramps on June 3 and 4.

Submitted by the Town of West Hartford

The Interstate-84 Interchange 43 (Park Road) on- and off-ramps were tentatively scheduled to be closed for paving between Sunday, June 2 at 8 p.m. and Monday, June 3 at 5 a.m. (weather dependent), but We-Ha.com learned Sunday that due to rain predicted for Sunday night, the closing will be on Monday, June 3, at 8 p.m. and will end on Tuesday, June 4, at 5 a.m.

Signed detours will be in place to direct motorists around the work zone. I-84 eastbound motorists will be detoured to exit 44, Prospect Avenue. I-84 Westbound motorists will be detoured to exit 41, South Main Street.

In the event of rain, paving will be re-scheduled for the following night.

This project is administered by the Town of West Hartford, with construction inspection services provided by Weston and Sampson Engineers, Inc. and oversite by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The project started on Sept. 19, 2017 and is on schedule to be completed by the fall of 2019. The prime contractor is Paramount Construction.
