On Monday, May 6, weather dependent, contractors will be working on Farmington Avenue at the crosswalk near CVS and Toy Chest to perform traffic signal repairs and concrete driveway/sidewalk work. Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, May 9.

The contractor, NY-CONN, will be removing the damaged traffic signal cabinet, removing the damaged foundation, setting a new foundation, and installing a new cabinet. The traffic signal will be inoperable during this work.

A police officer will to assist with traffic control and pedestrian crossings.

Clover Construction will begin on Monday by demoing the old apron and removing brick pavers and prepping the area of the new concrete apron. The new concrete driveway apron will extend from the street to the building line to help differentiate the sidewalk and driveway area for pedestrians.

The driveway will be poured on Tuesday with the intent of having a couple days to cure and have it re-opened by Thursday afternoon.

In addition to the concrete work, Clover will also be resetting the brick sidewalk pavers around the driveway and traffic signal cabinet. They will also be installing three bollards to protect the new traffic signal cabinet.

During the construction, the driveway will remain closed to all vehicles 24/7. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. All truck deliveries will be directed to use the South Main Street entrance. Municipal Parking staff will be on-site to manage traffic flow entering via the exit.
