Trash Delayed, Thanksgiving Closings for Town of West Hartford

Thursday and Friday collections will be impacted, and other town services in West Hartford will be impacted by the Thanksgiving holiday.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, the collection of trash, recyclable items, and metal collections will be delayed one day after the holiday.

The normal Thursday collection will be done on Friday, Nov. 27, and Friday’s collection will be done on Saturday, Nov. 28. No other collection days are affected during this holiday week or the following week.

In addition, the Town of West Hartford municipal offices, schools, senior centers, community center, and libraries will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26.

Schools will also be closed on Friday, Nov. 27.

On Friday, Nov. 27, the following facilities will be open by appointment:

  • All three libraries
  • Town Hall
  • Veterans Memorial Skating Rink. Pre-payment and registration is required due to session limits. Go to http://www.skatevmsr.com for more details.

The recycling center will be open Friday, Nov. 27, from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and will also be open Saturday, Nov. 28, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
