West Hartford BSA Troop 146 like just about every organization has found itself meeting virtually on a regular basis which bring new challenges. One part of every Scout meeting is the opening ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath, and Law.

The Troop has given a new twist to the presentation of the colors in that it is live from the front yard of a troop member where a formal flag raising can be seen by all, followed by the Pledge, Scout Oath, and Law. This also gives new Scouts a chance to complete one of the Tenderfoot requirements for conducting flag ceremonies.

Troop 146 has implemented a summer program of troop and patrol meetings virtual merit badge offerings to go along with select day activities in place of Scout summer camp cancellations that have been put in place.  The Troop is conducting a food drive this month to support the West Hartford Food Pantry.

Troop 146 usually meets at the West Hartford United Methodist Church on New Britain Avenue across from Wolcott Park and looks forward to in person meetings at some point in the future.
