After a long break in between games, the Hall girls basketball team faced off against Northwest Catholic on Thursday night.
Northwest Catholic came out strong in the first half, led by senior Morgan Murphy who had 17 points in the first half. At halftime Northwest went into the locker room leading 32-14.
In the second half Hall changed up their game and started to find the basket which had eluded them in the first half. Solid defense by the Warriors held Murphy to two points in the second half, but a strong showing by NWC’s Maeve Rushin (14 points) and Bre Lebron (13 points) in the second half kept NWC on top for a 59-52 win over the Warriors.
McKenzie Mandyck led the Warriors with 16 points. Also helping out the Warriors were Rylan Priest (9 points, 7 steals), Talia Sortman (8 points), and Geneva Nelson and Abby Magendantz both with 6.
At halftime the Warriors celebrated their alumnae. Hall welcomed back Lexi Gellerman (2018), Amber Raisner (2018), Caitlin McGeary (2010), Lily Donatelli (2010), Caroline O’Keefe (2017), Maddy Mandyck (2018), Liv Bonee (2020), Colleen Kennedy (2019), and Jenna Zydanowicz (2020).
The Warriors will be playing in a Holiday tournament on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 29 and 30, in Canton.
