The renovations include a new energy-efficient refrigeration system with updated piping and concrete flooring, new dasher boards, glass and netting, and improvements to locker rooms and surrounding areas.

The rink closed March 30 to undergo the work. Staff members are preparing to welcome the community back to the newly renovated facility.

The rink features an NHL-sized, 200-by-85-foot ice surface, updated lighting and sound, a café and a pro shop.

It serves approximately 350,000 people annually through skating, DJ-Skates, special events and local team sports.

The rink’s popular Learn to Skate program is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 21.
