The 20th Park Road Parade will be held in West Hartford on Oct. 6, and organizers are looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks.
The organizers of the 20th annual Park Road Parade need volunteers on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The Park Road Parade is wildly popular, with about 1,000 marchers and more than 7,000 spectators. A parade of this size and magnitude requires a lot of helping hands. We hope you can help.
Choose from or be assigned to one of these volunteer positions:
Conductor: Check-in participants for a specific division. Line them up in the proper order within their division, and instruct groups when to march. March with unit and maintain proper spacing within the division.
Assistant Conductor: Help conductors with check-in and line up process as stated above.
Ambassador: Assigned to a specific Conductor and Assistant Conductor to assist with management of the line-up process within the division. Answer questions about line up locations and divisions for participants. May be assigned to march with the division to provide control in keeping spectators, especially children, back from the path of marchers as well as to assist in maintaining appropriate spacing to avoid large gaps in the parade.
Clean-up Crew: Pick-up any debris along Park Road so that it is left in the condition in which it was found.
The Park Road Parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. until the end of parade which will be at about noon. More information about the parade is found on www.ParkRoadCT.com.
To sign-up as a volunteer, simply email your name and desired position to Rita Soovajian at [email protected]. Join the fun and bring a friend! We hope to have you as part of our team this year!
