The WEHA Artists Emporium is a group for artists, artisans, and art lovers in the West Hartford area and is the brainchild of local artist Stefanie Marco of Kindspin Design. Artists can be solitary creatures. They tend to hide away in backrooms, garages, and warehouses making fabulous art on the sly.  Marco noticed an abundance of artistic talent in West Hartford and wanted to find a way to share it with the rest of the town, so she gathered together some artist friends: David Davis Wilson (D. Wilson Design,) Hannah Dunnack Jackson, Jenni Friedman, J. C. Phillipps, and Meg Poulin, to help create the new group.

Through their Facebook page www.facebook.com/groups/WEHAArtistsEmporium/, members of the WEHA Artists Emporium can post upcoming shows, network with other artists, and list works of art that are for sale. The artists post images of their works on the main page, but artists also have individual Facebook galleries where art buyers can find and purchase original art.  It’s as easy as finding a piece of art you love and writing SOLD in the comments.

In addition to being an online gallery, the WEHA Artists Emporium is a place for artists to connect with each other about what they are working on. “It’s been so inspiring already,” says Marco, “seeing all of the beautiful artwork available.”

You don’t have to be an artist to be a part of the WEHA Artists Emporium. The Facebook group is open to anyone who wants to be a member and is a great way for art lovers to find when and where local art shows are happening.

Right now the group is looking to make their name known. They are accepting members daily and are excited to walk in the Park Road Parade.

“We’re planning some fun stuff after that too,” Marco promises. “But that’s top secret.”

  • I’m a local West Hartford resident and found out about this site through the library. I do a lot of abstract paintings and resin jewelry and I’m wondering if there’s anyone who could help to get my art into the community. I did put some jewelry at max and Lily’s Consignment Shop. And I put my artwork on this artrepreneur site but haven’t had any luck with many responses. Any help would be appreciated. If there are any seasoned… or new artists … anyone who has any tips on how they got started I would be more than grateful if you would share them with me. I think this is a great site and I can’t wait see what comes next! Thanks so much.
