The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce is proud announce their inaugural Business & Community Showcase to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4-8 p.m. at the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium located at 50 South Main St.

Comcast Business is the presenting sponsor for the event, which will feature more than 50 businesses, restaurants, and nonprofits in a business expo environment. The public is invited to attend this free event to learn about many of the goods, services, and resources available in our community.

Some of the businesses that will be represented include: We Care Computers, IRIS Photography, DirectLine Media, New England Financial Group, and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

“We are excited host this brand new event right in the heart of West Hartford,” said Christopher Conway, executive director of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber’s tagline is ‘Your Community & Business Connection.’  This showcase will allow member businesses and organizations to interact directly with members of our community to share information about what they have to offer our area.”

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce provides access to many resources available to businesses. One such connection is their strategic alliance with SCORE, an organization that provides mentorship and coaching to businesses at any stage of their development, free of charge. Business owners are encouraged to attend the Business & Community Showcase to learn more about this and other professional resources available to them.

Other community and nonprofit organizations that will be on hand include Futures Inc, Kingswood Oxford, Mandell JCC, Ron Foley Foundation, Sonia Plumb Dance Studio, and West Hartford Rotary.

Paul Savas, vice president of Business Services at Western New England for Comcast Business had this to say about his company’s support of this community event: “Comcast Business is proud to be the inaugural presenting sponsor of the West Hartford Business & Community Showcase. We’ve enjoyed a longstanding partnership with the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce and are committed to being a part of the growth and prosperity of West Hartford and its business community. Our recent expansion of our fiberoptic network underscores our commitment to the town, allowing us to bring our company’s network and cutting-edge suite of products to hundreds of offices, restaurants and realtors in the area.”

West Hartford is famous for its eclectic restaurant scene. Balos Estiatorio and The Pond House Café will be among the restaurants present offering samples from their world-class menus.

The Business & Community Showcase was created as the result of the positive response to the WeHa Health & Wellness Fair the Chamber co-hosted with Blue Back Square this past August. Health and wellness are a well-represented sphere within the Chamber. Balance Massage & Wellness Center, Copper Beech Institute, Nurse Next Door, Orange Theory Fitness, Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers, Select Physical Therapy, and the soon-to-open Float 41 will all be on hand at the expo to share information on their unique approaches to a healthier you.

In addition to being a business expo, the event will also be a focal point for the West Hartford Chamber’s effort to support Foodshare this holiday season who is running a “Virtual Turkey Drive.” For $20, people can purchase a “turkey” and all of the proceeds will go to Foodshare to purchase turkeys for those in need in our area. A virual turkey can be purchased by clicking this link: https://www.whchamber.com/events/details/turkey-drive-for-foodshare-2535.

“We are honored to be in a position to help an organization like Foodshare, who does so much to help our community,” said Kate Kobs, Outreach & Development coordinator at the Chamber.

The Business & Community Showcase is made possible by the generous support of their gold sponsors Ameriprise Financial and Keating Insurance, and their silver sponsors blumshapiro and Westfield Bank (which will open their newest location in West Hartford Center soon).

Ryan Keating and Jeff Lovanio, hosts of the popular “Experience WeHa” podcast, will capture the energy of the event with a live, onsite broadcast. WH Media is also a media sponsor for the event.

“As Chairperson of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, I am pleased to announce the first West Hartford Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Showcase,” said Robert Kulakowski of Cedar Hill Home Inspection. “This event is a great opportunity to connect with the businesses and community partners in West Hartford. The Chamber community looks forward to meeting you at this great new event!” he added.

The Business & Community Showcase is free and open to the public to attend. There are also limited spaces still available for businesses, restaurants and organizations who would like to participate. Vendor spaces are $150 for West Hartford Chamber members and $250 for non-members.
