The West Hartford Art League’s annual Fine Arts Festival will return on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29, and will feature the works of 33 artists.

“This event is a great shopping opportunity for people looking for something different,” said West Hartford Art League Executive Director Roxanne Stachelek. “We have a real variety of work this year, with artists selling everything from pottery, wood turned bowls and vases, blown glass and stained glass, to paintings, drawings, collage, botanical printing, and more,” she added.

The festival will be held under tents on the grounds of the West Hartford Art League, 37 Buena Vista Road. It will be held rain or shine, and begins at 10 a.m. both days and is open until 5 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The first Fine Arts Festival was held during the pandemic, in September 2021, to fill a need for activities that could safely be held outdoors, and was such a success it has continued each year. This year, the West Hartford Art League, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.

“This is another way for the Art League to help artists showcase and sell their work,” Stachelek said.

New artists have joined some of the returning artists, and the Fine Arts Festival also includes a food truck on site both days, as well as live music both days from noon to 3 p.m., a mobile pub, and a kids corner where children can participate in art projects.

Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to enjoy lunch on the lawn while listening to the music.

Some parking is available in the Schoolhouse parking lot, as well as on the street.

During the Fine Arts Festival, the Art League’s two galleries will also be open to the public.

The Sandra and Arnold Chase Family Foundation is the presenting sponsor of the Fine Arts Festival. For more details about the event, visit the Arts Festival — West Hartford Art League.
