Indeed, St. Brigid-St. Augustine School’s Associate Principal Marge McDonald is a very lucky lady!
After a careful vetting process by the town of Newington’s St. Patrick’s Day Committee, McDonald was chosen to lead the Newington contingent as their “Irish Person of the Year” in Hartford’s 46th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 a.m.
“I was totally stunned by the announcement yet very grateful and appreciative to receive such an honor.” An elated McDonald stated, “I guess you could say the luck of the Irish was with me on the day they voted!”
McDonald continued, “All kidding aside, as a resident of Newington, I am very proud and humbled to represent my town as Newington’s Irish Person of the Year. This is exciting! I look forward to seeing many of my past and current students with their families along the parade route.”
With great admiration Principal Shevon Hickey shared, “Mrs. McDonald is well deserving of this recognition. She is an absolute asset to St. Brigid-St. Augustine School. It is such a wonderful blessing to know that our associate principal will be leading not only her town but she will also be an amazing representative of our school in Hartford’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.”
