West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District to Host Virtual Diabetes Self-Management Workshops

Day and evening sessions are available in the fall of 2022 for a diabetes management workshop series hosted by the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District.

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District will offer a seven-week diabetes workshop series for individuals with type 2 diabetes who are newly diagnosed or who may need an update on managing their diabetes

Workshop topics include meal planning using the plate method, beginning carbohydrate counting, eating out, label reading, checking blood glucoses and target blood glucose levels, medications, exercising safely, managing sick days, and much more!  There is opportunity for questions and comments as we share our virtual learning experience.

The fall workshop dates are Thurdays, Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27; and Nov. 3, 10, 17. Choose either the daytime session scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon, or the evening session scheduled from 6-8 p.m.

The workshops will be led Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Paula Kellogg Leibovitz.  For questions or to register for any of the workshops, please call Susan at the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, 860-561-7909.

Pre-registration is required as workshop materials will be mailed to you prior to the start of the workshop.
