West Hartford’s Boys Travel Basketball teams participated in the Southington Invitational Tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. West Hartford won the 5^th, 7^th and 8^th grade divisions after an exciting weekend of basketball.

West Hartford 8^th grade

The 8^th grade team won their division by defeating Southbury and Wallingford in pool play before falling to Wolcott.  The title game was a rematch against undefeated Wolcott.   West Hartford managed to hold on for the win in a defensive battle to claim the title.

West Hartford 7^th grade

The 7th grade team won the 7th grade division of the Southington Invitational Tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend by going 4-0.  The Cagers dominated pool play, winning by an average of 19 points over Avon, Wallingford and Wolcott to set up the championship game against host Southington.  The two teams fought back and forth all game, before WH pulled ahead for good in the last few minutes.

West Hartford 5th grade

West Hartford’s 5th Grade Boys Travel Team won the 5th grade division of the Southington Invitational Tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend by going 4-0.  They controlled pool play, winning by an average of 37 points over Southington Blue, Southington White and Newington. West Hartford then squared off in the championship game against Avon defeating them by 12.  The 5th grade team displayed profuse discipline with terrific ball movement, team defense and maximum effort. Jumping out to quick leads in each game and never looking back!
