The Town of West Hartford Department of Public Works is announcing a change to the town’s curbside bulky or oversized waste collection program.
Effective Oct. 1, 2026, residents who need to dispose of bulky or oversized waste items will arrange collection directly with All American Waste, the town’s residential waste and recycling service provider.
Under this new service model, the Town will no longer issue bulky waste permits. The change is intended to streamline service delivery by eliminating the need for residents to contact the town for a permit and then contact the service provider to schedule the collection.
Residents may contact AAW directly to request service, schedule collection, and pay applicable fees. Collection and disposal fees will be based on the specific item(s) earmarked for pick-up and disposal, as listed in the AAW Bulky Waste Collection menu.
You can reach American Waste by phone at 860-289-7850 or through their customer service portal.
The Town of West Hartford appreciates our residents’ cooperation as we implement this change and continue to look for ways to improve by streamlining municipal service delivery.
