Autism Families CONNECTicut (AFC) is pleased to announce its popular gym program “Playing on the Spectrum” for children ages 3 to 13 on the autism spectrum, their siblings and families will take place this October in New Britain.

“Playing on the Spectrum” Gym and sports program will again be offered at the Hospital for Special Care’s Research & Educational Center on Sundays in October (4 sessions). The program is open to residents of West Hartford and other towns as well.

This breakthrough program integrates a variety of developmentally appropriate play, sensory and social skills activities, targeted toward the specific needs of children on the autism spectrum. Play and fun will be facilitated by professional clinicians, and will include planned activities as well as space for free play. Children will be encouraged to exercise, learn motor skills and interact with each other. At the same time, siblings can enjoy their activities in Sibling Group.
