The West Hartford Fire Department arrived on the scene four minutes after receiving a report of a fire at a single-family home at 47 Goodsell St. at 6:22 p.m. Saturday, and the blaze was knocked down quickly without no resulting injuries, Assistant Fire Chief Hugh O’Callaghan said.
Smoke was visible coming from the rear of the home as well as the roof of the garage when the first units arrived on the scene, Battalion Chief Keith Albert reported.
“Two attack lines were stretched to the interior of the garage and the exterior rear deck of the home,” O’Callaghan said.
The blaze was extinguished quickly, and firefighters confirmed that no one was inside the home.
Multiple units from the West Hartford Fire Department responded to the incident, as did American Medical Response.
According to O’Callaghan, the residents of the home have not been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the West Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.
