West Hartford Mayor and Other Area Mayors Seek Food Distribution Volunteers

West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor, and the mayors of Bloomfield and Windsor, are seeking volunteers on four Fridays in October to assist with the distribution of pre-packed food boxes.

The Mayors United Community Food Distribution is seeking volunteers to assist with the distribution of 1,800 pre-packed, 22-pound food boxes.The effort is being hosted by the mayors of Bloomfield, West Hartford, and Windsor.The distribution will be held at the Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield, CT, on Fridays Occt. 9, 16, 23, and 30.
Volunteers can arrive between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and should be able to commit to a minimum of two hours.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS: Team Player, Positive Attitude, Flexible, Reliable & Committed. Must have the ability to lift boxes weighing 22 pounds. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Volunteers will need to lift and place 22-pound food boxes into car trunks and assist with vehicle staging. Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.
All volunteers must sign up in advance, and indicate the dates and times they are available. Name, address, email, and phone number will be requested.
