Dan Gerstein, a West Hartford native who is CEO of New York-based Gotham Ghostwriters, is used to telling others’ stories.

Tuesday he shared his own story – of COVID-19.

Gerstein said he was fine on Thursday. “Friday night I had fever, chills, a heavy dry cough,” he told WFSB’s Dennis House in an interview for a segment aired Tuesday night.

While Gerstein had all the symptoms except shortness of breath, he wasn’t able to get tested for COVID-19 – even after he learned that a co-worker had tested positive.

Gerstein’s story can be seen here on WFSB.
