Residents are invited to attend a presentation of conceptual designs for Kennedy Park at a Special Meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Elmwood Community Center.
The town’s consultant, Weston & Sampson, will share results of the recent town-wide Kennedy Park questionnaire and unveil two draft concept plans. At this meeting, comments from the community are welcomed in order to provide us with additional guidance to formulate a final, comprehensive, master park plan.
The goals of a new design include the following:
- Improve pedestrian and vehicular circulation to facilitate accessibility throughout the park in a manner that promotes connection to areas of use and safety.
- Identify opportunities to expand bicycle and car parking to meet the needs of park users.
- Identify opportunities that make the site more compelling aesthetically.
- Protect existing tree canopy and promote diversity for future plantings.
