West Hartford Police have received complaints about solicitors selling ‘Jesus Juice’ door-to-door.

After receiving multiple complaints of “aggressive” solicitors, West Hartford Police are urging residents to contact them if approached by door-to-door salespeople who do not have a license from the town.
Assistant Chief Dan Coppinger said police received four complaints Friday afternoon about aggressive solicitors who claim they are working for a company called Optimum Cleaners. They are selling bottles of spray cleaner called “Jesus Juice.”
The liquid comes in a spray bottle. There are no ingredients listed, and “Jesus Juice” is written on the bottle by hand, Coppinger said.
“This group is not authorized to solicit in West Hartford,” said Coppinger. Police handed out several warnings, and arrested one of the solicitors.
Coppinger urged residents to ask solicitors to show their Town of West Hartford-approved solicitor license before agreeing to purchase anything.
“If they don’t have a license, residents should call the police,” Coppinger said.
