West Hartford Police were called to Duffy Elementary School Thursday evening after learning that individuals had gotten into the school.

“It appears to be kids messing around,” Lt. Ted Stoneburner said Friday.

Nothing appears to have been stolen from the school, and Stoneburner said that the intruders likely entered the school through a door or window that had been left unlocked. West Hartford Public Schools have been closed this week for April vacation.

“Police are giving the school extra attention,” Stoneburner said.
