West Hartford Police Investigating Overnight Shooting

The West Hartford Police Department responded to a report of shots fired early Thursday morning.

West Hartford Police said that shell casings were found near the intersection of Elmhurst Street and Elmhurst Circle and are continuing to investigate what appears to have been shots fired early Thursday morning.

According to Capt. Michael Perruccio, police responded to a report of shots fired at 1:21 a.m. Thursday.

Although multiple shell casings were found on the scene near Elmhurst Street and Elmhurst Circle, police said it does not appear there were injuries.

A check of area hospitals did not indicate any possible victims from this incident.

Police said that their investigation remains active and no further information can be provided at this time.
