West Hartford Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate what they are calling the “untimely” death of a male teenager found at a multi-family home.

Capt. Michael Perruccio said Friday morning that officers responded at 11:52 p.m. Thursday to a “reported disturbance” at a multi-unit residence at 359 Prospect Ave. The property is just north of the intersection with Park Road.

When police arrived, they discovered an unresponsive male. First responders immediately initiated emergency medical care, Perruccio said, but it was not successful and officers determined the the male was “presumed deceased on scene.”

Police have not identified the victim, but early Friday afternoon said the individual was 17 years old.

According to Perruccio, this incident “remains and active and ongoing investigation” by the Detective Division.

“At this time there does not appear to be any danger to the public,” police said in a news release, and Perruccio said no further details are being released at this time.

Anyone with information about any incident that may have occurred near or at this location, around the same time, is urged to please contact the West Hartford Police Department Detective Division at 860-570-8882 or 860-570-8878.
