West Hartford Police Seeking Suspect in Gas Station Robbery

A man robbed the convenience store at the Shell station at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Kane Street in West Hartford on Saturday.

West Hartford Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying a man who robbed the convenience store at the Shell gas station at 195 Prospect Ave. at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday.
According to police, the suspect demanded money from the clerk, implying that he had a gun. The clerk opened the register and the suspect reached over the counter and stole an unknown amount of money, police said.
Police described the suspect as a tall black male (over 6-feet tall), estimated to be between 30-40 years of age. He was wearing glasses, a white v-neck t-shirt, dark colored cargo sweatpants, and flip flops.
The suspect fled the scene in a newer-model bright orange Hyundai Tucson with Connecticut plates, police said.
