The West Hartford Republican Town Committee condemns the recent racist and inflammatory commentary aimed at Asian Americans by State Representative Mike Winkler (D-Vernon). As an elected official, he has an obligation to support all members of our community. We urge all our elected officials to call for Rep. Winkler’s resignation. As a community, we need to embrace our diversity and respect all individuals and cultures. We all have a responsibility to call awareness to any forms of hate, racism or anti-semitism.
