On Monday, May 8, starting at 9 a.m., United Artists Salon in West Hartford will partner with Journey Home in Hartford for our 3rd Annual Haircuts for Humanity.

We all know how transformative a simple haircut can be. United Artists will offer free haircuts with the hope of bringing a renewed sense of confidence and self-esteem to our friends and neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Local businesses are also getting involved in this effort. West Hartford’s Effie’s Place, Park & Oak Restaurant, and Whole Foods Market, and Hartford’s Max Downtown, Blue State Coffee, and Scotts’ Jamaican Bakery will all be donating food and beverages.

Anyone can sponsor a haircut and all proceeds will go to Journey Home in Hartford as they continue to lead the effort in ending chronic homelessness in the Greater Hartford region.

The suggested donation is $25; you can contribute by check made out to Journey Home (255 Main St. Hartford, CT 06106) or by visiting our website journeyhomect.org/donate.

Journey Home’s mission is to accelerate progress towards ending chronic homelessness in the Greater Hartford region. Partnering with the region’s social service providers, Journey Home focuses on solving the problem of chronic homelessness with housing, employment, and support services, rather than managing it with emergency shelter. As a catalyst for systemic change, Journey Home develops and implements innovative ways to improve the housing and service system in order to offer those experiencing homelessness paths toward independent, fulfilling, and productive lives.
